Umbria in autumn
September - October
As if the year had a second springtime: after the first good rain following the dry summer months, the fresh green of spring returns. Many spring flowers are in bloom again. These may very well be called the two most beautiful months of the year; ideal for hiking and day excursions.
After a busy summer, the small towns return to peace and tranquility. Time for the grape harvest, mushrooms and chestnuts.
November - December
All is ready for the olive harvest. The days are pleasant and warm, still adequate for summer clothing. In the mornings, the valleys are covered by light mists, everything is enveloped in a beautiful silence.
